In your GCSE, you need to be able to explain the features of personal media players and how they are used

in different situations.

What is a media player?

A media player is a device that will play songs, videos, display slideshows of images and maybe let you take photos as well.

Key Features?

  • Small, light and easy to carry.
  • Use solid state memory so that the songs don’t ‘skip’ when jolted.
  • Long battery life
  • Hold a lot of media (songs, podcasts, audiobooks and videos)
  • Can set playlists.
  • Can lock to prevent accidental activation.
  • Simple interfaces, e.g. jog wheel.
